IBPS PO Preparation Guide
Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Probationary Officer (IBPS PO) is a three-stage exam: Prelims, Mains, and Interview. Banking awareness and fast calculation skills are decisive.
Prelims structure
Prelims includes English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability with sectional timing. The goal is to clear sectional and overall cut-offs — speed and accuracy in easy-to-medium questions win.
Mains structure
Mains adds General/Economy/Banking Awareness, Data Analysis & Interpretation, and descriptive English. Banking awareness must cover RBI functions, monetary policy, financial institutions, and recent banking news.
Study plan
Dedicate daily slots to calculation drills (simplification, approximation), puzzle practice, and reading comprehension. Take one prelims mock every 3–4 days and one mains mock weekly in the final month.
